On Saturday, December 17, 2022, at 1:00 PM, the Peleș National Museum will open, in the Hall of Honor of Pelișor Castle, the exhibition of stained glass icons by the artist Elvis Bîrsan.
Elvis Bîrsan was born on May 12, 1966, in the city of Craiova. He studied at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, IPB Bucharest.
The passion for light, for the vibration of light, and technical studies came together in an attempt to find out what happens to the light of sunrise when it penetrates through colored glass.
It is the very technical definition of a stained glass window. If this technical ensemble is dressed in the clothes of the Orthodox faith, an icon is obtained, a stained glass icon. The artist studied stained glass, in all its forms of manifestation, for 25 years. And, being in love with the pure energy of filtered light, he continued with the attempt to create stained glass icons.
The final solution emerged when he understood that any artistic pursuit must be clothed in faith.
