A student of the "Ion Mincu" University of Architecture and Urbanism, with a master's degree from the same university, and numerous specializations at prestigious institutions in the UK, such as the Architectural Association, School of Architecture, Westminster University, Sotheby's Institute of Art, where she obtained a diploma in Art and Finance in a Global Market, Hetherly School of Art, a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA), Doina Maravela - Moss is an artist whose training in architecture influences her distinct visual style and who has navigated the intersection between artistic endeavor and spontaneity since a young age.
Living in Hampton Court, England, Doina Maravela – Moss is constantly inspired by the landscapes of this place, so steeped in history. Since 2016, she has revitalized her exploration of oil painting, driven by a passion for impressionist philosophy. This approach is evident in her en plein air works, in which she captures the ethereal beauty of the Thames, Richmond and Bushy Parks, as well as the various locations she encounters during her travels.
With her debut in 2017, at the Salon des Refusés, Doina Maravela – Moss’ career has seen an upward trajectory, with exhibitions organized by important museums or renowned institutions in Bucharest, Galați, Târgu Mureș, Brașov, Cluj, London, Paris, New York, Houston and Zurich. This year, Doina Maravela – Moss became a member of the Union of Visual Artists of Romania, Galați branch, thus crowning the artist’s other affiliations with prestigious institutions.
In the exhibition set up at Pelișor Castle, the “dream home” of the most beloved queen of Romanians, Maria, herself a talented painter and patron of the “Tinerimea artistică” society, the visiting public will be able to admire 31 oil paintings, most of which were painted en plein air, and structured into three series. The first series is inspired by Queen Maria of Romania and her beloved castles and places in Romania and Balchik. The second series presents landscapes from the surroundings of Doina’s house in Richmond, London. The third series includes works painted during her travels and with various subjects.
At the artist's invitation, renowned designer Simona Șpan will bring a touch of color
