The Cenacle of Fine Arts “IDNegulici” Câmpulung was founded on January 29, 1970, by master Alexandru Marinescu, the current honorary president of the cenacle, being one of the initiators of this artistic group. In addition to him, a founding member of the cenacle, present on the exhibition stands is also the renowned restorer, church painter, UAP member, master Grigore Popescu Muscel. Gheorghe Tomozei, the adopted son of the city of Câmpulung, together with the other personality of the time, the well-known art critic Radu Ionescu, coordinated the beginnings of this movement.

Throughout its existence, the circle has organized hundreds of exhibitions in the country and abroad, 30 domestic, national and international creative camps and another 40 camps in cities across the country. Four art albums have been published, culminating in the fifth, titled “Semicentennial”, printed on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the circle’s founding, an album released at the end of 2020.

The themes chosen to be exhibited at Pelişor Castle are buildings, royal residences but also members of the Royal Family of Romania. The paintings vary from realism to abstract, from figurative to non-figurative, from impressionism to surrealism.
