season "Citadel of the Arts" continues at Peleș Castle with a special recital by Eva Garrett, The 13-year-old young artist impresses with her talent, being considered a true revelation of Romanian pianists. After impressive successes on important stages and at high-value competitions, she is now holding her first national tour.

Eva Garet will perform Saturday, June 1, 2019, from 3:00 p.m., at the Peleș Castle Concert Hall. The artist will present a particularly difficult, but also attractive program, consisting of works by Bach, Haydn, Liszt, Dohnanyi, Tchaikovsky, Scriabin and Enescu.

The public is invited to celebrate International Children's Day by visiting the fairytale castle, participating in this special event, an opportunity to also visit the exhibition of the National Competition "Carmen Sylva" which will include works selected from the annual competition organized by the Peleș National Museum for young artists in Romania. They responded seriously to the challenge, confirming their artistic talent in the categories of drawing, painting, engraving and photography. The exhibition will also be inaugurated on June 1 in the Hall of Honor of Pelișor Castle.

Eva Garrett, born in Bucharest on May 10, 2006, has been studying piano since the age of 5. She is a student of teacher Mihaela Zamfirescu, in the 6th grade at the National College of Music "George Enescu". She has won first prizes, first prizes of excellence or grand prizes at numerous competitions in Romania: Pro Piano, Millennium Piano, Gradus ad Parnassum, Victor Giuleanu, Ada Ulubeanu, Piano ArtIS and the National Instrumental Interpretation Olympiad. In 2016, at only 10 years old, Eva Garet becomes the youngest winner of the "Golden Lyre" trophy, the prestigious competition for young musicians under 18. Starting with the 40th edition, the "Golden Lyre" competition awards the "Eva Garet" special prize to the youngest finalist.

In 2017, Eva won the "Dinu Lipatti" trophy of the "Road to Fame" competition among competitors up to 26 years old, and a year later she won the only first prize at the first international "Mihaela Ursuleasa" competition, won first prize at the "1st Ricard Viñes Piano Kids and Youth" in Spain, a competition under the Alink-Argerich emblem, and became the first Romanian pianist to win the "Ettlingen International Piano Competition" in Germany, one of the most prestigious piano competitions for juniors in the world.

Also in 2018, at only 11 years old, Eva Garet made her debut at the Radio Hall in the company of the Radio Chamber Orchestra, under the baton of conductor Stefan Novak, in Concerto for piano and orchestra no. 23, K488 by WA Mozart, broadcast live by Radio Romania Muzical and Radio Romania Cultural. The collaboration with the "Ion Dumitrescu" Philharmonic from Râmnicu Vâlcea, under the baton of professor Bogdan Vodă, immediately follows. In January 2018 Eva Garet makes her debut on the big stage of the Romanian Athenaeum, accompanying Alexandru Tomescu in Enescu's "Balada", on which occasion she also performs the Romanian Rhapsody no. 1 by George Enescu. Eva is also invited in March 2018 to the "Tuesday Evening Season" in an extraordinary recital at the Small Hall of the Romanian Athenaeum, and in June 2018 Eva is present on stage at the 7th edition of "Mogoșoaia ClasicFest".

In 2015 Eva starred in the Dutch film production “Disappearance” (Verdwijnen) directed by Boudewijn Koole, performing works by Grieg, Schubert and Mendelssohn, under the musical direction of Alex Simu. In 2018, “Disappearance” won the BUMA Award for “Best Soundtrack in a Feature Film”.

He recently received an Honorable Mention in the piano category of the difficult Prague International Concertino Competition.
