season "Citadel of the Arts" continues at Peleș Castle with a special recital by Costin Soare, one of the most appreciated classical guitar virtuosos in Romania.
The concert will mark the end of the national tour. "From Schubert to Sting" and it took place Saturday, June 15, 2019, from 4:00 PM, at the Peleș Castle Concert Hall.

The artist will perform lied-s by Franz Schubert, arranged by one of the most important guitarists of the 19th century, Johann Kaspar Mertz; themes with variations/works based on AREAS or songs famous; Sonata III by Manuel Maria Ponce, one of the most beautiful compositions for guitar in the 20th century, which has in the middle part a Chanson nostalgic; and, at the end of the musical itinerary, the audience will be able to listen to a unique arrangement of one of the most beloved songs sung by Sting, Shape of my heart.
The concert will be performed by one of the most appreciated and active Romanian guitarists, on his eighth national tour, Costin Soare, continuing the series of successful tours "From Bach to the Beatles", or "From Paganini to Piazzolla" in which the association between a classic, traditional classical guitar repertoire and spectacular arrangements of works from 20th century pop/rock/jazz culture attracts numerous spectators.
And on this special occasion, the opening of the evening will be marked by presentation of a new valuable object from the heritage of the Peleș National Museum.
Costin Soare (www.costinsoare.com) has distinguished himself through his qualities as a versatile musician, approaching a repertoire that starts from early music (performed on the lute) and reaches the contemporary. The artist happily combines a beautiful concert career (guitarist and lutenist) with a pedagogical one (professor at the "Dinu Lipatti" National Academy of Music, Bucharest and associate professor at the National University of Music), being also the artistic director of the "Guitar Evenings" International Festival. With an experience of 8 national tournaments to his credit (Romanian 100%/2019; The Magic Flute/2018 – both with flautist Ion Bogdan Ştefănescu; From Paganini to Piazzolla/2018; CD release tour Twenty Shades of Music/2017 – alongside Ion Bogdan Stefanescu; From Bach to the Beatles/2017; Music in the palaces of Romania/2016; Easter harmonies/2015 – alongside actress Daniela Nane; Nocturnes and dances/2013), a CD released in 2014 (Nocturnes and dances), another in 2017, Twenty Shades of Music (alongside Ion Bogdan Ştefănescu), permanent member of two chamber ensembles (alongside flautist Ion Bogdan Ştefănescu and mezzo-soprano Claudia Codreanu), guitarist Costin Soare is a tireless promoter of high-quality classical music through an instrument whose intimate voice and repertoire are appreciated by the general public. For the activity carried out in 2016 (tour Music in the palaces of Romania and organization International Festival "Guitar Evenings", 6th edition), Costin Soare was among the nominees of the section Classical music from the "Matei Brâncoveanu" Awards Gala of the Alexandrion Foundation.
